Local Portal

well, right now i want to make a fireplace for my little man cave but no one seems to have a portal. Now that we have a town and factions and stuff, i vote there should be a portal in CatastoCity. A local one that everybody could use. maybe an owner could make it private around the portal in the nether so people dont grief. just my opinion.

i have a portal and theres some ob in my mine if u want it

If we had a public portal, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of trying really hard to get diamond and then mine obsidian and then make a portal?

I think that we should have a public portal, but we should demolish the arena and rebuild it in the nether You should not be able to leave that one part of the nether could someone make a poll? Not sure how to do it

Goftred, not sure if you know exactly how portals work. There can be as many as necessary, but they will default to the same portal in the nether. The first person who makes a portal and goes through, a portal in the nether that is the closest to the portal in the over world will be activated. When you go back out of that portal, you will be put in a portal that was the one that originally activated the nether portal you went through (or the closest one to the corresponding over world position of the nether portal). You will not be put back in the same portal as the one you went through unless it was the original or the closest. That is a problem if you have a public portal. You would go through the public portal and then end up in the nether portal. You said you wouldn't be able to leave that area unless you used your own portal. All of the portals would go to that one nether portal. No one would be able to explore the nether. When you went back you would go to a nether portal in someones house probably. If I confused you: Don't Do It! It is a bad idea. If you want to know more: look it up on the mine craft wiki.

No it doesn't other people have portals too as long as we don't make a public one. Wait a second.. Yeah people r gonna jump out of ur house u should make it private
