Server Rules
Please note that these rules are specific to the server only, not the forums.
1: No griefing. For those of you who don't know, griefing is the breaking or placing of blocks on another user's creation without their consent. Placing fire/water/lava/tnt on another user's creation is also considered griefing.
Consequence: Permaban for new users, no exceptions. For ranks Builder and up, first offence is an immediate demotion, and second offence is permaban.
2: Respect all authorities. This includes Moderators, Admins, and Owners. Showing respect is following orders, and overall being polite towards them.
Consequence: First offence is usually a kick, later offences are temp-bans, eventually a permaban.
3: No excessive swearing. This includes any words that are questionable, as well. Pretty self-explanatory.
Consequence: First - third offences are usually muting, and temp-bans will be given if it becomes a problem.
4: No racial and/or hateful words. This includes any words that questionable, as well. Note: If all involved parties agree that it was "joking", than the punishment may be removed/altered.
Consequence: First offence is a mute. Second offence is a temp-ban. Any further offences are typically permabans. Punishment often varies on the situation.
5: No spamming. We consider spamming to be repeating the same message more than twice, for no apparent reason. Spamming is also posting short or meaningless messages repeatedly.
Consequence: First - third offences are usually muting, and bans will be given if it becomes a problem.
6: PVP is allowed anywhere it is possible, but if it turns into a huge argument, or prevents a player from playing, consequences will be given.
Consequence: Usually a kick, but rarely a temp-ban.
7: Don't advertise other servers on CatastoCraft. If you want to tell someone about your server, skype them, or get their phone number, but our server is not the place for advertising.
Consequence: Usually a kick, but rarely a temp-ban.
8: Do not exploit server errors or Minecraft bugs. The block duplication bug was an excellent example. For those of you who don't know, in the past, users devised a way to duplicate blocks using a redstone device that exploited an error with pistons. This gave those users an unfair advantage over users who did not duplicate blocks.
Consequence: Varies on the severity error exploitation.
9: Please report griefing or any other violations, so that we can keep CatastoCraft a fair, fun place to be.
Factions Rules:
1: Capturing enemy land is allowed. Keeping it for yourself, forever is allowed, but discouraged. What I recommend is that you capture the land, and sort of hold it hostage, or require that the enemy pays you a sum of money before they get it back.
2: Griefing the captured enemy land is not allowed unless both factions explicitly agree to it in the Factions Discussion forum. If one faction wishes to get out of the war, they must give the enemy 24 hours to halt the attack. This is to prevent pulling out right before it gets bad, etc.
3: No faction's members may exceed more than roughly 30% of the server's total population. This number will be changed as time passes, in intervals of 5.
4: If a faction war does get out of hand, please remember that misunderstandings do happen, and this is indeed just a silly video game.
